Every Business Is `e` Business

Whenever we are talking about e-business, we think –almost automatically- about e-shops. In fact, e-services cover a much broader area as we definitely move towards the full transformation of entrepreneurial activities and the changing of the guard for whole sectors of economy as they pass from the physical to digital world.

 1st Session: e-strategy for starters

During the last years, we customarily tend to accept every entrepreneurial project evolving technology and innovation as a success story and a paradigm for all to see. Yet, as much as a proper business plan is of capital importance in such a move, there is twice as much need to adapt in the continuously changing landscape. This is the strategic point of view upon which the operation of any business and e-business, for sure, should be based.

How much different are the e-service and e-commerce models? In what way an enterprise may attract clients and keep them, too? What is the most accurate way to calculate the real operational costs and find their alteration model in comparison with revenues? How critical could be factors as the transactions themselves, transportation or even packaging of goods?

 2nd Session: The ecosystem

Although the doubt about the adaptation of e-business to the ecosystem of traditional commerce in the physical world or its modification to such a degree that will make it look brand new will probably never be properly answered, in this session we will try to examine the interaction between different stakeholders and factors.

Most naturally, software remains the stepping stone of everything. Enterprises and programmers create platforms, special techniques and add-ons that support every activity and aspect of e-businesses. On the other hand, banks have a prime role of their own, as they control and manage the payment channels. In addition, e-commerce would not be feasible without transportation and logistics. But… what about services offered to the customer? Who is going to take care of this? In what way and at what cost?  It is more than evident that all these factors depend largely on each other and interact in both predictable and unpredictable ways.

3rd Session: The problems

Reality shows that, the main reason for the existing problems and malfunctions is the need to bridge the gap between the physical world and the digital one. This gap is getting wider because of the immeasurable human factor, differing ways of thinking, stubbornness and distortions. However, nobody can deny that the main “ingredients” of the ecosystem don’t move at the same speed, while the frequent adoption of new legal requirements and directives often disrupts completely whatever plans the enterprises have.

In the context of this session, an open discussion will help us understand the problems, their causes and the possible solutions, while may prove quite valuable for the attendees who will easily see that many topics examined are not even included in their agenda…

 4rd Session: Case studies Fail & success

The speakers taking part in this session will present case studies which cover many different aspects on e-business. They will, also, talk about the emerging trends which will subsequently create new, dedicated ecosystems. Dropshipping, for example, could open new opportunities for e-commerce. The placement of insurance companies in the e-business market, as partners as well as a product, opens another lucrative new category of its own. On line booking offers a great opportunity to the tourist market, but also makes it prone to a great deal of dangers, as well.

Is “e-everything” a threat for traditional commerce or is it simply another distribution channel? What is the position and the future of cryptocurrencies?
