The Greek online economy
e-business has shown impressive development over the last two years. It is practically the only part of Greek commerce and entrepreneurship that has sported such high development rates.
According to a research conducted by ELTRUN, the E-Business Research Center of Athens University of Economics & Business, in 2011, online purchases by Greek buyers amounted to 1,7 billion Euro (more than 35% more than 2010).
Combined with the fact that only 1/3 of Greek internet users state that they proceed to online purchases (where as the percentage for the rest of Western Europe is more than 2/3), as well as that ROPO (Research Online Purchase Offline) is estimated to the amount of 7,5 billion, it is more than obvious that perspectives of this entrepreneurship are more than positive in the following years.
The aim of this conference is to reveal the growth prospects and opportunities existing in the industry and redefine the relationship between e-business and competitiveness and extroversion for business.
It also aims to identify the barriers withholding further development of e-business in order to propose modern (and proven) practices or technology solutions that will overcome these obstacles.
Finally, it aims to present current trends in the international market that reveal the way in which the industry is heading, the prospects and the future.
